My blog Exotic Universe represents over six years of thought experiments into speculative biology, culminating in a bizarre world with no plants, a blood-red sky and dramatic axis of rotation more like Uranus than Earth. I wrote this blog to commit my thoughts in written form and to finally realize all of the time I’ve spent thinking about what a habitable alien world would look like, and what kind of creature it would take to call this hostile environment ‘home’. The  purpose for my blog is not so much to persuade or enlighten anyone, but it serves more of a cathartic release for me. I love the research being done into planet habitability and I want to utilize the work of these astrobiologists to produce my own fictional planet; one that obeys the laws of physics, is habitable for life as we know it, and yet remains alien to anything we could find on Earth.

I would warn you that some of the material in my blog is science fiction and so you should be careful with what information you take from my blog. You may use any figures, but note that these figures are not mine. I found them online somewhere else and simply failed to cite where I retrieved them. When I started the blog, I had no idea that I would write dozens of entries, so I never documented much.
